THE AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY MEDICAL ENTRY TEST
The MCAT AKU is a standardized test taken by students who are applying to medical (MBBS) courses in the Aga Khan University Karachi (Pakistan).

Description of the MCAT AKU
The MCAT AKU consists of multiple-choice tests: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science Reasoning, and Mathematics.
Time Allowed = 3 hour and 15 minutes

Test Content
Physics 40 questions
Chemistry 40 questions
Biology 40 questions
Science Reasoning 30 questions
Mathematics 30 questions

Physics
The aim of the test is to determine the extent of the examinees’ grasp of fundamental principles and their ability to apply these principles in the solution of problems.
The test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, some of which are grouped in sets and based on such materials as diagrams, graphs, experimental data and descriptions of physical situations.

Chemistry
The test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions.
Test questions are constructed to simplify mathematical manipulations. As a result, neither calculators nor tables of logarithms are needed. If the solution to a problem requires the use of logarithms, the necessary values are included with the question.
Periodic table is NOT provided in the test booklet.

Biology
The test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, a number of which are grouped in sets toward the end of the test and are based on descriptions of laboratory and field situations, diagrams or experimental results.

Science Reasoning
Despite its intimidating name, Science Reasoning doesn’t test your understanding of any scientific field. Instead, the Subject Test assesses your ability to reason like a scientist or to test your ability to understand and analyze data. All of the information you need to know for the Science Reasoning Test will be presented
in the questions. You just have to dig it out. The test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions, some of which are grouped in sets and based on such materials as diagrams, graphs, experimental data and descriptions of scientific situations.

Mathematics
The test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. The majority of questions in MCAT AKU mathematics deal with pre-algebra, elementary algebra, and plane geometry, which are topics usually covered at the beginning of high school. Our chapter on the Mathematics Test includes an in-depth review of all of the topics included in the test.
