PMS stands for Provincial Management Service. PMS Pakistan is a competitive exam, and the provincial government of Pakistan conducts it through its commissions namely PPSC, SPSC, BPSC, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KPSC, Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission. PMS test includes written test, psychology test and interview; who passed these PMS tests are offered government job as First Class Officer (Grade 17). An applicant passing this exam is called PMS Officer. PMS Officers get various jobs like AC, Section Officer, Additional Secretary, Deputy Secretary, DG, DCO, Secretary, Commissioner, Magistrate, and many more equivalent posts of their grade. PMS Officer plays an important role in the top-level bureaucracy of the province. They perform their duties at Tehsil, Division, District, and Provincial level at different posts. Just like CSS, Provincial Management Service (PMS) is also a government service. This PMS came into existence on January 17, 2014, in the province of Punjab. In Pakistan, it was established to improve the service structure of bureaucracy in the provinces. PMS Exam is a combination of written test and Interview/ Viva Voce.
