What are Screening Tests?
Screening Tests are designed and used for the purpose of selecting and allocating people. The tests are used in a number of situations, for example, selecting people for Tests, promoting or transferring people to other departments or jobs, and in certain types of course. Such tests are used by FPSC,PPSC,SPSC,KPPSC,BPSC,AJKPSC, and NTS in Pakistan.
How you conduct yourself during the test?
Probably every test paper in the country advises the candidate against spending too long on a particular question. It is a good advice. If you do not think you are going to be able to answer a question, move on to the next and if there is time come back to the questions that you have missed.
It is important that you place your answer in the correct place on the answer sheet or test booklet. If the test has an answer sheet separate from the questions, take particular care to check regularly that the question number corresponds to the number against your answer.
It is equally important that you indicate your chosen answer in the way requested. If the instructions ask you to, for example, tick the correct answer, make sure you do tick your choice rather than perhaps circle it or underline it.
Guessing sometimes pays. If the test is a multiple-choice paper and you do not know the answer, it may pay to guess. If, for example, you have to choose from four possible answers guessing would allow you to get, on average, one question in four right. Often you can improve on this average because you are sometimes able to recognize one or more of the suggested answers as incorrect.
Estimating sometimes helps in multiple-choice maths tests. Rather than working out inconvenient sums it is quicker if you round the amount up or down to a convenient number.
